My new fave breakfast place. I was won over by the French Toast Flight we had for brunch on a Friday Veterans Day holiday. The wait was 25 minutes. The wait after being seated and ordering our food was another 30. Good thing I like my mornings slow, and I love conversations with my hubby, otherwise, I would have been agitated by the flow.
About the FTF… You pick 3 flavors. We chose the Banana Split, Strawberry Mascarpone, and Peanut Butter. We added their signature bacon on the side called Jurassic Pork. Believe it or not, it took the French Toast Flight to a higher level I thought was not possible. We even cut some up and put it in the vanilla ice cream on the banana split. It’s bacon made with brown sugar and paprika. Yum! Hubby and I split everything and we were both stuffed. There was so much peanut butter in that third one that I was not hungry until 7pm. That’s a big deal as my body burns food fast and I’m always hungry unless I have lots of fats and protein in my food.
The hubby did the beer flight and was satisfied with it. He drinks a lot of local small brewery beer so he’s had better and worse than these but for the price of it and its variety of flavors, it was great. I wish our server told us what or who’s brewery they were from. We love details like that. Our server was ok.
Service… He didn’t do anything wrong but we eat out a lot from cheap to pricy places and we’ve had better uppity service at big franchise breakfast places like Den and Hop. I would have loved more energy from the dude. We still tipped him well.
The taste of the bacon is hard to forget. It’s taste still singing hours later. I’ve googled searched for a recipe and could not find one for it and only mentioning it’s key ingredients. I did find a recipe for one of their pancakes from a local blogger featuring this eatery.
The beer flight, French Toast Flight, Jurassic Pork bacon 🥓, plus tip was a little over $38.
Go there for great food but definitely not fast service. Allow for a couple leisure hours on a busy breakfast morning.
